Fasting on Words

Fasting on Words
Beloved, As we ended our 30-days prayer & fasting program, would you join me in another fast - word fast? He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his soul from troubles - Proverbs 13:3 Not every fast is from food; some breakthroughs require fasting from words. A word fast is the discipline of restraining unnecessary speech in order to heighten spiritual sensitivity. It is choosing silence over noise, discernment over impulse, and the Spirit’s voice over emotions. The tongue is powerful. When left unchecked, it leaks strength, invites strife, and quenches the Spirit. But when disciplined, it preserves virtue, guards peace, and sharpens hearing. In this season of restoration, God is calling us to speak less so we can hear more. It does not mean muteness, but intentional speech. You speak only what aligns with truth, faith, prayer, and love. Complaints are paused. Arguments are suspended. Explanations are reduced. In that quiet space, the Holy Spirit takes over; ordering thoughts, healing emotions, and releasing clarity. Many miss divine instructions because they talk their way out of revelation. Sometimes the breakthrough you seek is not in what you say; but in what you stop saying. Word fast! Agreed?
